The central government, especially the left leaders, Sonia and the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh deserve three cheers for creating people's friendly development initiatives.

If you remember, the last Naga- Kuki conflict or for that matter talk about the Muslim and Meitei riots, Kuki-Paite, including the issue of dividing the state of Manipur etc. In fact they are the handy work of petty politicians and leadership.

This is not to disregard the orally stated objectives, action and values of the leader but the impact that it creates in the life of ordinary citizens leading to stagnation of our economy, human resource, unrest and underdevelopment of the people and the state. We are simply the loser!

Today, as an ordinary citizen of an undeveloped state, we are given more voice through various means. Gone are the days when the media, and the government machineries were controlled by a handful of rich people (though this may still exist in some ways or the other).

As a good citizens and a patriots of this country, we need to raise our voice louder and clearer to clean up or governance system so that all communities can benefit without any discrimination. Let us read our Bible, Quran and Gita.

What do we learn from the sacred books? The answer is within each one of us including the rich, the powerful, bureaucrats and power brokers!

We have just elected our representatives very recently, did observed and note their achievements during their term. They are people's representatives and not for the rich and brokers or whatever you call them.

So let us be good to them not because, he or she is my or your relative or friend but because of his or her good deeds towards God, the people and the state. If they don't deliver and act against the majority poor, God will reward them accordingly or change your leader.

So, Pray for them!

Think we are still alive and not dead citizens of the state. Therefore, if only prayer is not enough, we need to unite irrespective of our different identities and ideologies.

A citizen's forum could help us to do the job and thus state level non-violence against corruption and nepotism in the governance of the state can be addressed and highlighted.

For this, we need the support of religious institutions, media, and the active participation of civil societies. Stand up! Let your voice be louder and be heard.

If the government has a long-term plan and a vision for the people then, the role of the Chief Minister and his Cabinet ministers including the elected leaders of all political parties and leaders of the opposition of the party is of great importance.

Importantly, the role of information commissioner will be critical indicator of good governance, transparency and for building healthy relation with the general public.

Local leaders have to be proactive, especially with regard to schemes and development projects. For this, they will need to creatively use the Right to Information Act for taking effective and informed decision for local area development.
