The U.S.-based Kuki International Forum (the global Kuki Forum) completes eight years on 29 December 2010. The organization was formed at a meeting held from 29-30 December 2002 in the United States of America. Since its inception, the Forum has made great accomplishments.
In the first few years of its formation, the Forum submitted memoranda and letters to different heads of governments and organizations, including the then U.S. President George W. Bush and Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, highlighting the issues of the Kuki people.
During the past eight years, the Forum representatives have had discussions or interviews with a number of socio-political leaders from Burma and India. The interviewees included people from the same group who are internationally known with different nomenclatures such as Chin, Kuki, and Mizo.
