Fund raising for my ex-student
- 09 April 2010 -
Hi all!
I am writing to you with regards to my ex-student of CMR College, Hijam Joychandra. He met with a very unfortunate accident 3 years back and ever since then he is unable to move his body (neck down). In these 3 years with the help of physiotherapy and medicine, he can now move his left thumb. It's a slow recovery but we are hoping that one day he will recover completely.
Having suffered for 3 years running after the hospitals, his financial resources have been drained. His father passed away long time back and his mother (who was looking after him all these years) passed away recently. So, I thought of asking your help in easing out some of his problems.
There are 3 major areas where each one of us can help, one way or the other:
1. Money: Top priority at this point of time. I'll be collecting till the end of this month. Those who are willing can either contact me or Joy's classmate, Gunajit . Also if possible, please collect from your friends and relatives at least Rs 10 (I am sure nobody will feel the pinch!) in his name. That way, we will be able to generate more money.
2. Doctor: Anyone who can suggest a good doctor for his treatment will be really appreciated. He is there on my friend list and has put up his case history (check the
following website: ), so you can have an idea about the seriousness of his injury. All these while, he has referred to doctors in Manipur and Guwahati only.
3. Accommodation: Should he decide to go to any other hospital other than the ones in Manipur for his treatment, I would like to know if any of you would be willing to put him up at your place or at least suggest a place where the rent is very reasonable. Details of the place will be mailed later as he still hasn't finalized the place.
I will be really grateful to you if you come forward to help Joy. Once the collection is over, I will send the list of people who have contributed.
Thanks.
