International Indigenous Peoples' Day Observance

As per its annual calender, ICITP-NEZ, along with its 52 Member Organisations and in active collaboration with local friends and
support groups, is organizing a one day regional seminar on "The United Nations Declarations on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples
and the Indigenous Peoples of North East India" on the 9th of August, 2008, at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra, Auditorium Hall, Panjabari, Guwahati-37, Assam to mark and celebrate the International Indigenous Peoples' Day and to aware and educate on the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples adopted by the United Nations General Assembly at its Head Quarter in New York, USA on the 13th of September 2007' .
The other purpose of the seminar is to provide Indigenous Peoples from India's Northeast an opportunity for a collective platform to interact and share their views on their issues, evolve effective strategies and strengthen their solidarity and empower them to enhance their capacity to realize their aspirations through peaceful democratic processes.
You as a custodian of the Indigenous and Tribal Peoples' well-being in the region, we cordially invite you to participate in the seminar at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra Auditorium Hall, Panjabari, Guwahati-37, on the 9th of August , 2008 in the morning at 10:00 to grace and to contribute to its deliberation.
