Allotment of Land for Manipur Bhavan at Bengaluru
6th February 2013
In response to a request made by Shri O.Ibobi Singh, Honourable Chief Minister of Manipur regarding the allotment of land for the construction of Manipur Bhavan in Bangalore, the Government of Karnataka has approved the allotment of 10,781.63 Square metre (a little over 2.5 acres) of land at the upcoming Sir M Vishveshwariah Layout.
The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), which is in charge of the site allotment in the city, in its meeting held on the 18th January 2013, has approved the allotment of this land on lease for 30 years to the Government of Manipur at the Civic Amenity Site Rate (CA Site Rate). The issue was discussed and re-ratified in the meeting of the BDA held on the 5th February 2013.
The Sir M Vishveshwariah Layout is not far from the Jnana Bharathi (Bangalore University) Campus and the Manipur Bhavan will be constructed in Plot No.11 of the 5th block of the above mentioned layout.
The Government of Manipur has a vision not only to construct a Manipur Bhavan, but also a Manipuri Community Centre which will include a spacious hall for social gathering and celebrations, and an auditorium. Besides, the Government will also be creating a facility in the form of a Ladies Transit Hostel and permanent display place for Manipuri handloom and handicraft products. Further details are being worked out.
Yours Sincerely,
Sd/=
