Announcement for Admission to the Post-Graduate Degree Programme in
MASTER OF ARTS IN SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP, 2007–2009

The two-year, full time, Master of Arts in Social Entrepreneurship aims at grooming entrepreneurs with a social vision—generating wealth by expanding livelihoods and sustainable development. The multidisciplinary programme will draw from management, social development, economics, innovation and entrepreneurship, bringing together over 60 years of institutional excellence of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in management, social development and research.

Taught by social scientists, management experts, development professionals, and entrepreneurs themselves, the programme will blend cutting edge theory with innovative field based learning including internships and field-placements.

The focus of the programme will include the development, management and leadership of social enterprises. Graduates are expected to be absorbed in the fast-growing profit and non-profit entrepreneurial sectors.

The total number of seats available for the programme, including and observing the reservation norms of the Government of India are 15.

Forms Available from : May 10, 2007 (Thursday)
Deadline for receipt of completed forms : June 20, 2007 (Wednesday)
Deadline for receipt of completed forms : June 26, 2007 (Tuesday)
(For candidates from remote regions and International students)
Written Test : July 25, 2007 (Wednesday)
Group Discussion & Personal Interviews : July 27 (Friday) and July 28, 2007 (Saturday)

Announcement for Admission to the Post-Graduate Degree Programme in
M.Sc./M.A. IN DISASTER MANAGEMENT, 2007-2009

Disaster Management is emerging as a field of practice that requires qualified professionals. In order to meet this need, Jamsetji Tata Centre for Disaster Management, TISS offers a post graduate programme in Disaster Management. This programme is primarily designed for mid-career professionals and candidates with work experience will be preferred. However, highly motivated and meritorious fresh graduates can also apply. The programme will commence in September 2007.

Eligibility: A Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years duration or its equivalent from a recognised University in any discipline with a minimum average of 50% of marks (40% for SCs / STs).

Note: Students completing final year Bachelor’s degree examinations by June 30, 2007 will also be eligible to apply provided they obtain the required minimum percentage of marks specified under eligibility.
