Vacancy for various academic and non-academic positions

A N Sinha Institute of Social Studies, Patna, an interdisciplinary Research Institute enacted and financed by the Govt. of Bihar and recognized and supported by the Indian Council of Social Science Research, has been doing pioneering research with a focus on development and change. Institute invites application for the following posts:

Academic Position

Professor of Economics - 2, Professor of Sociology - 1, Professor of Social Psychology -1,
Associate Professor in Economics - 1, Associate Professor in Sociology - 1,
Associate Professor in Social Psychology - 1, Assistant Professor in Social Psychology - 1, Assistant Professor in Economics - 1

Non-academic Position

Secretary to Director - 1 (General), Section Officer - 1 (General), Assistant - 2 (EBC - 1, SC - 1) those who had applied earlier need not apply.
Professor - 4 (General - 2, EBC - 1, SC - 1)
Associate Professor - 3 (General - 2, EBC - 1)
Assistant Professor - 2 (SC - 1, General - 1).

For Faculty positions the age of retirement is 65 and 62 for non faculty positions.
Roster Rules of the Institute are applicable for academic and non-academic positions:

Essential Qualification:

(a) For Academic posts UGC norms would be applicable as minimum qualification and not necessarily sufficient. Other desirable additional qualifications are as follows:
Candidate for the post of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor should have published recently at least one/two/Three research paper(s) in a reputed professional peer reviewed journal respectively. Preference will be given to those candidates with better quality of publication evidence.

Candidates should submit a publishable paper with methodological rigor on his/her area of specialization and interest for seminar presentation and a proposal of work plan for next two years along with CV attached with self attested copies of certificates, experiences achievements and credential to work independently with name of two referees, etc., through proper channels. Application without publishable research paper for seminar and comprehensive work plan will lead to rejection of candidature despite fulfillment of UGC norms. Only screened candidates will be invited for interview. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to give a seminar on his/her submitted paper at the Institute before a selection committee.

(b) For Non-academic posts:
(i) Secretary to Director: Graduate with evidently good drafting skills in English and Hindi, personal relation and computer friendly. Working experience in similar capacity in Research Institution will be preferred.
(ii) Section Officer: Graduate with evidently good drafting skill in English and Hindi, familiarity with computer, accounts and administration. Experience in similar capacity/work in Research Institution will be preferred.
(iii) Assistant: Graduate in Commerce and proficient in Computer especially Tally Software. Maximum Age limit 35 years (as on 31.05.2012), at least 3 years of relevant work experience in this field in any institution/organization.

For those applicants who are employed should send their applications through proper channel. However, in case of time constraints advance copy should reach the Institute before the closing date. In case of senior academic positions, the Institute may entertain applications/ recommendations of suitable candidates for consideration of the Selection Committee even if one has not applied. The Institute reserves the rights to fill up or not to fill up any of the posts. Any canvassing or influence in this regard will be liable to disqualification.
