9th AGM / Annual Cultural Program of AMAND, Pune on 4th Oct 2020

The Association of Manipuri Diaspora (AMAND), Pune organized its 9th AGM cum Annual Cultural Program virtually on Sunday, the 4th Oct 2020 via Zoom video conference and was streamed live on AMAND Facebook page.

Due to the current situation of the pandemic, a physical gathering could not be arranged for the AGM cum Cultural program unlike earlier years. The cultural programs includes a live musical concert from Imphal by renowned Manipuri singers, live traditional dance performances by members of the AMAND family from various locations, the 3rd AMAND Talent Hunt comprising of one minute recorded performance in dance, singing and playing of musical instrument each by children and open age group which was liked and appreciated by audience.

The program was well hosted virtually by Ms Nancy Huidrom as the master of ceremony from the office premises of 3CIT Solutions & Services Pvt Ltd, Pune.

Dr. Meitram Niraj Luwang, Gen Secretary, AMAND Pune presented the detailed activities report. As a part of it, he presented a short video on how AMAND helped the stranded and needy Manipuris when lock down started and how AMAND helped them in reaching Manipur by co-ordinating with the govt. of Manipur and govt. of Maharashtra through Pune Jiribam Shramik special train which departed Pune on the 20th May 2020.

In his presidential speech, Dr Huidrom Narendra Singh, Hon’ble President, AMAND, Pune shared some glimpse of this association as well as its journey till date. He also released the 4th edition of the biannual “e-AMAND Memoir 2020”, which is a colorful collection of various activities, happenings, numerous achievements and priceless memories of AMAND families during the last two years.

The 3rd “AMAND Distinguished Service Award 2020” was conferred to Warrant Officer Th. Pakasana Singh (Retd.) at the hands of the President, AMAND Pune. The names of the various achievers on academic, extra curricular activities and recognition awards of the members of AMAND family were also announced.

AMAND Pune thanked Hon’ble Chief Minister of Manipur, Shri N. Biren Singh for his goodwill Message for the success of 9th AMAND AGM cum Cultural evening as well as the AMAND Memoir 2020.

AMAND Pune also shows its gratitude to renowned singers Ranbir Thouna, Pushparani, Arbin and all the crew members of Tamna Sangai Records Imphal for the live musical concert; all the well wishers, Talent hunt and dance performers from various locations, members of AMAND family and virtual audience from across the globe.

During the business session of its AGM, Hon’ble President AMAND Pune Dr. H. Narendra Singh presented the names of new office bearers as well as the executive body members for the term 2020-2022 with Er. N. Giridhar Singh as New President & Er. Y. Sanjoy Singh as new Gen Secretary.

However, oath taking ceremony as well as the handing and taking over the charges of the office of AMAND Pune by the new executive body will be arranged as soon as the physical gathering is possible.

The program was ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Mr Kulabidhu Chanam, Secy. Information & Publicity AMAND, Pune.
