Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has awarded seven young entrepreneurs from Northeast with National Entrepreneurship Awards 2019 in New Delhi.
In this edition, out of 36 national awardees in various catergories, seven are from NE and Sikkim region.
The awardees from Northeast are Rida Gatphoh, Bandabiang Dewkhaid, Geetashori Yumnam, Thokchom Reena Luwang, Alemoon Nessa, Kashisho Chishi and Subhra Saikat Roy.
They were awarded at the Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra in New Delhi on 9th November to recognise and honour their marvellous contribution towards nation building via entrepreneurship.
The awards were conferred in the presence of Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey, Hon’ble Minister, MSDE, Dr. KP Krishnan, Secretary, MSDE and Ms. Jyotsna Sitling, Joint Secretary, MSDE
The award consists of a cash price of Rs. 5, 00,000, a certificate and a trophy. The 7 awardees are:
1. Dakti Craft – founded by Ms. Rida Gatphoh from Upper Nongthymmai, Meghalaya. Shillong
2. Shillong Bamboo – founded by Shri Bandabiang Dewkhaid from Mawsaitkhnam East Khasi Hills Shillong, Meghalaya
3. Green Biotech Solutions – founded by Ms. Geetashori Yumnam from Imphal west, Manipur.
4. JS Enterprises – founded by Ms. Thokchom Reena Luwang from Imphal west, Manipur.
5. AN Spice Industries – founded by Ms. Alemoon Nessa from Abhayapuri Bongaigaon, Assam
6. Toka Multi Purpose Cooperative Society – founded by Shri Kashisho Chishi from Purana Bazaar, Dimapur, Nagaland
7. ICAR scientist Dr Subhra Saikat Roy, ICAR Research Complex, Imphal west, Manipur
For the second time, IIT Guwahati –Technology Incubation Centre (IITG-TIC) was assigned as the regional implementing partner institute;
with the core IITG-TIC team consisting of Prof. Konjengbam Darunkumar Singh, Chairperson and, Mr. Himujjall Sarmah. Regional Programme Coordinator.
This time, out of 12 national regions, Northeast and Sikkim states region secured the highest number of awards.
