Sex education: The unspeakable undeniable

I am writing these in my own opinion and I don't intend to disrespect anyone's right or opinion about it.

Although some basic form of sex education is a part of syllabus in schools, it still remains as a controversial topic in many countries including our own.

As terrible but undeniable it is important and is useful at times.

Even if one doesn't plan to be sexually active, that doesn't mean that they shouldn't learn about sex, anatomy, contraceptives, condoms, STDs and other related topics.

Knowledge is for everyone and sex education should not be kept limited.

What is SE?

Sex education is the instructions to help people mainly youngster to gain information related to human sexuality (emotional, psychological, sociological, biologically & physical relations and responsibilities), skills and motivation to make healthy decision about sex, age of consent, safe sex, contraceptive and sexual abstinence as well as family planning.

Sex education also provides knowledge for adults about the harm that happens with infidelity.

Traditionally, adolescents in many societies are not given information about sexual matters even to this day as it is considered a taboo. So, instructions about sex were put off just before the child's marriage by the parents or the elderly.

Why is sex education important?

As in today's society women are to be blame for immorality, indecency, provoking outfits, etc. but men are as responsible when it comes to infidelity and sexual assault. Thus, sex education is a must for both children and adults.

As for teenagers, due to lack of guidance, they are obtaining information about sexual matters informally from friends and media but such information aredeficient and of dubious value, especially during the period of puberty where curiosity about sexual matters is most intense.

Teenagers obtaining such information usually end up with several wrong ideas about sex and about the opposite sex, their body image, fetish and their approach towards sex.

Consequently, many end up happening the unwanted to happen (teen pregnancy or with STDs).

Sex education should be informed by evidence of what works best to prevent unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, but it should always respect young people's right to complete and honest information.

Therefore, parents are the most appropriate to give and educate the correct concept of sex to their children as early as possible before they are misguided by the irresponsible and indecent medias and magazines.

As they are growing youngsters needs to learn, understand and adapt to the physiological and psychological changes of themselves. Thus, the earlier sex education is given at home the earlier the children are able to establish the correct concepts on sex.

Same goes for adults, as they aged their sexuality can be constantly changing just like their bodies. Their relationship status may change, their desire may change and may result in great sexual growth or sexual shut down.

So, one must try and talked about their situation to their partners and understand each otherdesires. They must try to compromise to their wants or consult a therapist to ease the situation.

The bottom line is that everyone needs a good education in understanding the human sexuality and sex education should not be something to be ashamed to discuss about.
