State athletes shine at Cochin Fight Night, bring home 5 medals

Imphal, September 16 2025: Manipuri athletes from Nongshamei Mixed Martial Arts and Fitness Centre have done the State proud by winning 5 medals including 4 gold and 1 silver at the Cochin Fight Night held at Sion Auditorium, Kochi in Kerala.

Ningthoujam Sinivas (U45 kg for junior boys), Heisnam Nelin Singh (U50 for junior boys), Thangjam Lanchenba (U55 kg for junior boys), and Ningthoujam Martina (below 60 kg for junior girls) of the centre based at Khurai Puthiba Leikai won a gold medal apiece as Chongtham Ashwinikumar (U75 kg for above 18 years) settled for a silver medal.

The team was led by Ch Premchandra as team coach cum manager.

The Nongshamei Mixed Martial Arts and Fitness Centre, in a press release, also extended greetings to the players on their achievements at the event.

The centre also wished them success in their future endeavours.

The Nongshamei Mixed Martial Arts and Fitness Centre also took note of the contributions of Rajya Sabha MP, Leishemba Sanajaoba for facilitating ease of travel to the athletes and thanked all contributors.
