1st Division District Football League commences at Senapati AstroTurf Ground

Senapati, September 16 2025: The 1st Division District Football League, 2025-26 commenced at Senapati Astro Turf Ground.

The tournament is organised by the District Sports Association under the Senapati District Olympic Association, Manipur (SDOAM) in collaboration with Mera Yuva Bharat (NYKS) Senapati, Manipur.

The tournament was kicked off in the presence of Joram Koveo, president, SDOAM; other key functionaries of District Sports Association and SDOAM .

The opening match was played between Purul FC and the newly promoted KMZNN, last season's 2nd Division champions.

KMZNN saw out the game 2-0 .

Later in the day, Katumlung FC sealed a 5-2 win over Willong Circle FC as Khongdei Circle FC notched up a 2-0 win against Athletico De Karong FC.

With a round-robin format deciding the standings of the second tier tournament, only the top two teams will secure the prized promotion slots, while two teams at the bottom will slip into the 2nd Division, keeping the stakes high at both ends of the table.

More than just a contest of points, the league is a proving ground for rising talents and a celebration of community spirit.

For players, it offers a pathway to higher recognition; for fans, it delivers the drama of a title race, promotion of dreams, and relegation battles - all packed into one fierce campaign.

The league will culminate on September 22 next.
