MPSC and TRUGPU, Nambol played a goalless tie while NISA beats SSU in today's matches of the 4th Manipur State League organised by the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) under the Vision India Project of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, Imphal.
Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC) and Tiddim Road Unique Gamy Players' Union (TRUGPU), Nambol played the first match today.
The match concluded in a goalless tie as no players of both teams could scored a single goal against one another.
Both teams' players displayed a real tough fight against one another throughout the match.
They played the match with full determination to win.
TRUGPU was awarded a penalty kick in the 6th minute of the match when I Shanta of MPSC fouled Kh Naoton of TRUGPU.
L Ratan of TRUGPU kick the penalty but could not converted it into goal.
G Maringmei, L Indramani of TRUGPU and K Premkumar of MPSC were issued a yellow card each for their unsporting behaviour during the match.
Later, in the second match NISA, Thangmeiband beat SSU, Singjamei 2-1.Both teams displayed a tough fight against one another throughout the match without giving much chance to each other to strike goals.
NISA took the first lead in the last moment of the first half when the referee was about to blow the whistle.
N Jimmy scored the goal in the 45+1st minute of the first half from a ball passed to him by his teammate S Thomas.
The second goal was scored by Th Santosh in the 47th minute of the match.
On the other hand SSU got its chance to strike back at least one goal against NISA in the 77th minute of the match when they were awarded a free kick.
E Abocha kicked the ball and Ng Jitkumar turned it into goal by heading.
No further goals were scored by ay players of both teams and the match concluded with NISA winning.
S Johnson, N Rajesh of NISA and E Abocha, M Bijen of SSU were issued a yellow card each.
