Imphal East, Imphal West win champion's title

Imphal, October 29 2008: AS THE State Inter School Basketball Tournament 2008-09 for Under 17 Boys and Girls organised by Youth Affairs and Sports Department concluded today, Imphal West won the champion's title for girls while Imphal East bagged the title for boys.

The first semi final match for boys was played between Imphal East and Thoubal.

Imphal East entered final after beating Thoubal 67-39 .

Somen and Sunder of Imphal East scored 15 and 14 points respectively while Binod scored 11 points.

Jackson and Romeo scored 9 points each.

Uttam, Anand and Amardeep scored 4, 3 and 2 points respectively.

On the other hand, Romen of Thoubal scored 19 points while Herojit scored 10 points.

Arundash scored 6 points while Budhachandra and Jeteshor scored 2 points each.

In the second semi final match of boys category, Imphal West and Churachandpur fought to enter the final.

Imphal West made it after defeating Churachandpur 74-55 .

Ksh Tingku of Imphal West scored 21 points while Ksh Rakesh scored 15 points.

I George scored 12 points, S Agu scored 9 points.

M Romesh and S Shankerdash scored 4 points each.

K Moree, L Ozzy, O Rebanta, L Betal scored 2 points each while O Tejbanta could make only 1 point.

On the other hand Biaksuan scored 22 points while Mangpi scored 14 points.

Andy scored 8 points and K Lalungpuia scored 3 points.

Chawthilal, Benjamin, Khupsuathang, T Ronald scored 2 points each.

In the final match of girls category, Imphal West won the champion's title after beating Bishnupur 31-28.S Malemnganbi of Imphal West scored 17 points.

H Dhanapyari and S Shai scored 6 points while M Shashilata scored 2 points.

U Memsana and H Anjana scored 13 and 8 points respectively.

U Lunie and K Bijeta scored 3 points each while L Nandita scored 1 point.

Imphal East bagged the champion's title of boys category after defeating Imphal West 86-76.Ksh Rakesh and S Sankardas scored 18 and 17 points.

I George, Ksh Tingku, S Agu, M Ramesh and O Tejbanta scored 14, 13, 10, 3 and 1 points respectively.
