Imphal, November 14 2008: THE NORTH East Zone Climbing Committee have selected 27 climbers of different category from Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh to participate in the 14th National Climbing Competition which is to be held from November 19 to 23, stated Dr L Surjit, Chairman NEZSCC in a press meet today at MMTA office.

The players selected from Manipur are S Surchandra, M.Shyamson in men's category, S Debala, Ph Sushirani in women's category, A Pushpakanta, H.Malemnganba, H.Raju in Junior Boys'category, S Landhoni in junior girls' category, L Muhindro, A Subhash, K Surjit, Rishikesh in sub-junior boys' category and Ph Dayarani in sub-junior girls' category.

Wangsuk Myrthong, Roiwanky Suichang from Meghalaya have been selected for women's category while, Verisha Maring, Kayleigh Petra Nongkynrih, Valarie Suching, Enifer Rowena Nongkynrih in junior girls category and Olivia Kharlukhi in sub-junior girls' category have been selected to participate the competition.

The selected climbers from Arunachal Pradesh are,T Bobo in juniou boys'category,Budhi Ampa in junior girls' category, Gangte Epo in sub-junior boys' category and Napum Yapu, Pingili Elapra, Renima Meto in sub-junior girls' category.

L.Tongliba of Nagaland has been selected to participate in the competition in men's category.

Chandrakumar, Dr KR Meitei, Vice Chairman, NEZSCC and N Bidyapati have been selected as team manager, team coach and ladies'-in-charge respectively.

It may be reminded that NEZSCC bagged runners up title in the last competiton and Remina Meto was also honoured with most promising climber's title.

Meanwhile, N Chitrasen and Walmbok Lengdong from Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh have been selected as route setter of this championship.

A residential coaching camp for the climbers by the selected coach at the rock wall of MMTA was also conducted from November 1 to 14 .

The team will leave Imphal tomorrow morning.
