Imphal, January 13: While the girls contingent (below 17) claimed the championship title boys team had to be contended with the third position in the National Junior Judo Championship held at Warangal, in Andhra Pradesh from January 3 till 7, said Manipur Judo Association in a press release issued today.

The girls� team wrested the top honour in below 17 year class while under 20 years competitors also won a gold, silver and bronze in the same championship.

The gold medallists (U-17) are Th Kalpana (below-52 kg) and Ch Jina in the under 17 year group with N Santimala securing the lone bronze.

L Bembem bagged gold medal in below 48 kg competition in the under-20 category followed by Chingkheinganbi Huirem's silver in below 63 kg and bronze medallist S Ibetombi in the below 52 kg class.

In boys� competition, Ch Rabichandra claimed the top prize in the under-17 years below 60 kg class followed by Kh Yaima in third position.
