Imphal, September 16 2025: Angkhel Chayang YCC overcame Monsang Pantha YCC 1-0 to win the DC Chandel Trophy Second Division Football Tournament-2025 title today at Chandel Sports Complex.

The two sides were neck and neck from the beginning and entered the break goalless and goal remained elusive for a major portion of the second half until D Renghong found the target in the 82nd minute.

D Renghong Lamkang not only scored the winner but was also adjudged top scorer of the tournament while Monsang Pantha YCC's Hadrian Khartu and W Beshorjit Monsang were named best goalkeeper and best player of the tournament.

Notably, Angkhel Chayang YCC thrashed Tonsen FC 4-1 in the prequarterfinal match before edging out Panchai SCC 4-3 in the quarterfinals and outlasting Riindamkhu SC 2-0 in the semis.

Meanwhile, Monsang Pantha YCC beat Lamphou Pasna 1-0 in the prequarterfinals before beating Penaching DC 3-1 in the quarterfinals and crushed Mahamani YC 5-0 in the semis to book their final ticket.

As many as 14 teams participated in the third tier district level club tournament organised by the District Sports Association, Chandel.
