SSA, SYUC emerge champion in girls' and boys' categories

Imphal, January 05 2011: SSA, Charangpat and SYUC, Ucheckon Khunou won the champions' title of girls and boys as the 21st U-14 State Hockey Tournament organized by the Hockey Manipur concluded on December 31 at Hockey Stadium, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, Imphal.

SYUC who won the champion's title of boys was awarded Rs 3000 cash award along with the running trophy.

Hockey Union, Lairikyengbam Leikai who won the second place was awarded a cash prize of ' 2000 along with the running trophy.

MEIRAA, Bashikhong won the third place and was awarded ' 2000 cash prize along with the running trophy.

SLLC, Kongba was declared best discipline team.

W Robinson of Hockey Union was adjusted player of the tournament.

The title of player of the final match went to L Hemba of SYUC.

SSA, Charangpat who won the champion's title of girls was awarded ' 3000 cash prize along with the running trophy.

YCPA, Chandel and MEIRAA, Bashikhong won the second and third places.

They were awarded cash prize or ' 2000 along with the running trophy each.

SLO Bishnupur won the best discipline team's title.

Th Anamika of YCPA was adjusted player of the tournament.

S Roshini of SSA bagged the title of player of the final match.

SSA, Charangpat beat YCPA, Chandel 4-0 in the final match played on December 31 to win the champion's title.

S Roshini of SSA scored the first goal in the 26th minute of the match.

The other three goals of SSA were scored by M Sapana in the 30th, 38th and 45th minutes of the match.

In the final match of boys' category, SYUC, Ucheckon beat Hockey Union, Lairikyengbam Leikai 7-2 to win the title.

M Dhananjoy of SYUC scored three goals in the 1st, 11th and 15th minutes of the match.

M Diboranjan also scored three goals in the 8th, 20th and 29th minutes.

S Ronex scored the seventh goal of SYUC in the 32nd minute.

On the other hand the two goals of HU were scored by W Robinson and Y Nelson in the 16th and 21st minutes of the match.
