Tennis crowns for Premjit, Sonia

Imphal, April 30: N Premjit and S Sonia respectively wrested the men's and women's singles crown in the 2nd Meghana Singh Memorial Tennis Tournament 2006 which concluded at Officers' Club, Lamphel today.

In the men's final, Premjit had little difficulty in despatching T Brojen enroute to the title by winning at 6-3, 6-1.sonia also a relatively easy final as Ksh Abe was unable to extend the clash beyond two sets.

Sonia triumphed at 6-2, 6-2.The men's doubles final saw T Brojen and Th Superman defeat Th Nelson and N Premjit 7-5, 6-3.The final matches and prize distribution ceremony were held with Chief Secretary Jarnail Singh as the chief guest.

The tournament was organised by Manipur Tennis Association since April 26.
