Imphal, October 30 2008: Submission of entries for the Second Open District Level Volleyball Tournament at Tamenglong district headquarters will be entertained till 3 pm of November 8 .

The tournament was launched last year to coincide with the foundation day celebration of Dihcham News Service the only daily newspaper published in Zeliangrong dialect.

Tamenglong correspondent of The Sangai Express Azonnah Zaspar quoted chairman of the tournament Organising Committee Mathiusang Panmei as saying that objective of the Dihcham News Service in organising the tournament is to create mass awareness about the press and media, promote peace and harmony as well as to encourage the youths live a healthy life.

The champion team would be awarded Rs 11,000 with Rs 7000 and Rs 4000 for the runners-up and third position winners respectively, added Panmei. Double First an AR team won the inaugural tournament.
