IE boys and girls emerge champions

Imphal, October 30: Both the boys' and girls' teams of IE district have emerged championships of the Boys and Girls State Level Inter School Handball Tournament 2006 being played at Khuman Lampak Indoor stadium.

In the final match of the boys' section, the IE team defeated Thoubal boys 33-28.N Sanathoi scored 11 goals while H Sunil netted 10 times in addition to to five contributed Ksh Premjit, 3 by N Ibungcha and 2 each by Jimicartar and Nignthem.

The final match of the girls' section between the same sides saw Imphal East team trouncing Thoubal team 21-8.The goal scorers for the champions were Ch Luxmi Chanu (7), Ch Luxmi (6), Ph Ranjita (2), Kh Gitasana (2), Th Sanathoibi (2), Ph Kamala (1) and Ksh Bijita (1).
