Imphal, November 20: Manipur staved off a strong challenge from Madhya Pradesh cagers before posting 55-53 points victory in a cluster B tie in the 53rd School Games Under-17 (boys) Basketball competition at Chhattisgarh today.

Peter N netted 20 points for the winners with Abu, L Romio and N Jeeten contributing 10 each.

UP and Punjab are the other teams in the group.

Manipur will play Punjab tomorrow morning.
