Imphal, June 14: Defending champion SEYO kept their hope alive and stormed into the final of 5 th L Dinachandra Memorial Div I Hockey Tournament at Khuman Lampak.

In the matches played today, SEYO overcame MPSC by a slender margin of 2-1 in a keenly contest match while HU defeated Meiraa 6-5.Th Gopal drew first blood for SEYO in the 2nd minute through a penalty stroke.

The equalizer came as late as 46th minute for MPSC when Gunamani converted a penalty corner.

However the all important goal for SEYO came in the 62nd minute off RK Tomba through a field goal.

In the other match of the day, HU's P Hemjit sounded the board twice in the 33rd and 53rd minute.

W Chita, N Somobanta, W Amitkumar and M Rishikesh scored one goal each in the 15th, 29th, 46th and 61st minute.

For Meiraa, Th Herojit and B Santosh scored two goals each while K Chinglensana scored one goal.
