As a major part of AFC's Vision India-Project Manipur, the first ever Manipur State League 2006 will kick off on November 3 at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.
The launching ceremony will be attended by AFC officials consisting of general secretary Dato' Peter Velappan, Director of National Associations and Clubs Brendan Menton, and development officers Imtiaz ur Rehman, Suvrat Thatte and Jita Singh.
Moreover, AIFF president Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi, vice-president Atuo Mezhur, general secretary Alberto Colaco and director Vision Shaji Prabhakaran will also graced the opening ceremony.
After a grand kick-off ceremony with presentation of Thang-ta by 100 artists and Bharatiyam by 550 school girls beginning at 10 am, the historic match of the 1st Manipur State League will be played between SSU, Singjamei and TRAU, Kwakeithel.
Altogether 12 teams playing on two leg basis will compete for the coveted title of the 1st Manipur State League 2006.Informing that there would be no ticketing for the match, AMFA has appealed to all concerned not to call any general strike, bandh etc on November 2 and 3.It also sought cooperation from all quarters to make the League a grand success.
