Imphal, February 26, 2010: Manipur Police sports Club (MPSC) claimed the title of the 20th Governor�s Cup Invitation Polo Tournament with a 9-6 victory over Khurai Polo Club-A in the final match at Imphal Pologround today.

M Jawan starred in the Police triumph with five goals while S Somorjit contributed three.

T Pradeep was the other scorer.

For the Khurai side, L Thomson and Th Mocha scored three goals apiece.

governor Gurbachan jagat, tourism Minister TN Haokip and GOC 57 Mountain Division maj Gen DS Hooda graced the closing function of the tournament organised by Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association, as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

apart from the trophy MPSC also bagged the top cash prize of Rs 10,000 with KPC-A awarded Rs 7000 and Rs 5000 prize for the best player going to Th Mocha.

Five best ponies were also selected with the award carrying Rs 1000 each.
