Imphal, December 22: Nagaland Police defeated NEROCA, Shangakpham by a solitary goal to set up a mouth watering final with reigning champions southern Sporting Union (SSU), singjamei in the 50th edition of the CC Meet football tournament at Khuman Lampak main Stadium on December 24 at 1 pm.

In the second semi final played yesterday at Mapal Kangjeibung, the Nagaland cops converted their only real scoring chance into goal to edge out NEROCA when Vizoru tapped-in in the 66th minute after Y Raju's feeble clearance from the goalline off a Zanthang salvo landed near the scorer.

Vizoru had also scored the match-winner in the quarter final tie.

Earlier, the match began with the local outfit dominating the first half getting as many as three scoring chances within the half hour mark.

While Sabir Saha faltered in finding the mark in the 23rd minute off an I Shanta essay, Kh Ramesh fumbled twice within a span of six minutes that could have made a difference for the Shangakpham side.

The otherwise absorbing contest was marred by as many as six yellow cards a marching order to S Thomas of NEROCA in the 72nd minute when he elbowed the opponents' Ape-o.Thomas was earlier booked in the 50th minute.
