Imphal, October 22 2008: Thanggoulal Kipgen's brace of goal helped Kangpokpi Youth Union-A clinch the title of the first Mangboi Memorial Cup Football Tournament which concluded at Motbung ground yesterday.

Thanggoulal struck on either side of the half as the Kangpokpi side defeated Bongbal XI (A) 2-0 to wrest the inaugural crown as well as walk home with the top prize of Rs 30,000.Bongbal XI were presented Rs 20,000 runners-up booty.

Chairman of Hills Area Committee Thangminlen Kipgen (MLA) graced the final match and prize distribution ceremony as the chief guest.

In all 39 teams from different parts of the State took part in the tournament which began on october 7.Thomas ground, Kangpokpi was the other venue of the tournament.
