Imphal, April 19: YWC, Thambalkhong advanced to the semi finals of the 4th L Saratchandra Memorial Invitation Football Tournament with a 2-1 victory over MBSU, Wahengbam Leikai at Kongkhampat ground today.

In another Group-B match played this afternoon MPSC outclassed AMOFA, Moirang 3-1 with Deshkumar opening the police score in the 14th minute and Ojit cushioning the lead with goals in the 23rd and 69th minutes.

AMOFA's consolation goal came off a penalty award which was converted by L Lakesh in the 81st minute.

Earlier, YWC's triumph ensured the team top spot in the group.

The match began with MBSU taking the lead on Paokhomang's opening minute strike while the Thambalkhong side rallied through Sh Santosh (44th) and K Kiran (57th).
