True to its sporting tradition, Manipur emerged champions in all the events of the 52nd National School Games which concluded today at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
In the U-19 Girls Football final, the host team had a run away victory beating Orissa 5-0.Th Monika drew first blood in the 20th after which N Manteshwari added another goal in the 38th minute.
Lalvarmoi Hmar struck twice in the second half followed by another one by N Chanchan to complete the demolition of their rivals.
The third place match between Haryana and Goa was won by the former by a solitary goal.
The U-17 Boys Handball final saw the host beating Delhi 28-21.Ksh Premjit contributed 7 goals while T Romen and L Amitkumar added six goals each.
In the girls category of the U-17 Handball, Manipur whipped Assam 18-8.A Rebika was the top scorer with 7 goals to her credit.
N Loidangton and Ch Anita contributed 3 goals each.
The closing ceremony of the National School Games was graced by MANIRE-DA chairman PL Thanga as chief guest and president of MOA E Binoykumar as functional president.
