State second-best in Taekwondo meet

Imphal, June 14: Manipur secured runners-up title in the 17th National Taekwondo Championship held at Shillong from June 7 till 9, informed Taekwondo Federation of Manipur in a release while adding that N Chamellei Devi was declared Best Fighter of the competition organised by Association of Taekwondo Martial Arts.

Manipur finished the championship with a haul of ten gold, two silver and three bronze medals.

Medal winners
Gold: S Munan (senior fin), Boy Yumkhaibam (Sr light), Romen Meitei (Sr heavy), T Mocha (Sr feather), Md Mufijur Rahman (Sr feather), Rohen Singh (S/Jr fly), Sanjit Singh (S/Jr bantam), M Chan Chan Devi (Sr bantam), K Kabita Devi (Sr fly), N Chamellei Devi (Jr feather).

Silver: H Chitra Devi (Jr welter), Takhellei (Sr light).

Bronze: P Ronel meitei (Jr feather), S Boy Singh (Sr fly), Th Jeckychand Singh (Sr bantam).
