Manipur dominated first day of medal events in the 33rd National Games here surging ahead of other States in the medal race with seven gold, four silver and two bronze medals.
Delhi on three gold and one silver is on second place.
Wushu artistes led the State�s medal hunt with three gold, same number of silver and one bronze while the fencers secured two gold, one silver and a bronze as women cyclists added another gold in the time trial team event.
Women wrestlers contributed one silver and a bronze through H Bidyaluxmi (72 kg) and Kamala (48 kg) respectively.
however, manipur suffered debacle in water-polo and men�s seven-a-side rugby competitions.
