Imphal, October 08 2025: Defending champions Manipur further cemented their position on top of the 30th Senior Women's National Football Championship for Rajmata Jijabai Trophy 2025-26 Final Round Group B table as they trounced Punjab by 4-0 goals for the third straight victory today at RKM Ashrama Ground inNarainpur, Chhattisgarh.

Having routed Haryana 3-0 and prevailed 6-0 against Assam in the first two matches, star studded State senior women's team ran riot to take a 3-0 advantage at half time before pumping in one more goal in the second half to complete the 4-0 rout of Punjab.

Lynda Kom took centre stage yet again as she netted her fourth and the fifth goals in three matches of the tournament in the 17th and 38th minutes to give Manipur a 2-0 lead before Laishram Bibicha extended the lead to 3-0 after 40 minutes.

Dangmei Grace, who also had contributed 3 goals in Manipur's first two matches, then scored the decisive goal at the stroke of the hour mark.

In another Group B match of the day, Uttar Pradesh who had beaten Punjab 2-0 for the first win and beaten Haryana 2-0 for the second win, registered a slender 1-0 win against Assam for the third win on the trot.

With the results, Manipur are assured of a place in the last four stage of the tournament alongside Uttar Pradesh who are second in the table with three of three victories.

Manipur will play Uttar Pradesh on October 10 in a crucial match that will decide the Group B league winners.
