In the second day of the 9-Day World Cup Amateur MuayThai Championship 2006 held here at the Mall Convention Center today witnessed several prominent fighters from all over the world vying for top slot.
Mr Nongthombam Premjit Singh (57 kg), who hails from Manipur, won by walk over.
He had to fight with Mr Narinder Kumar of Nepal but the latter, even after calling him three times to come inside the ring, did not turn up.
Thus, Mr Premjit Singh had been declared winner by walk over.
Indian players�Mr Sarangthem Ningtamba Meitei (54), Miss Nongthombam Bidyarani Devi (60 kg) and Miss L Jandhobi Devi (63.5)--all hailing from Manipur---however, lost.
Mr Ningtamba was defeated by Mr Kavaliov Siarhei of Belarus while Miss Bidyarani and Miss Jandhobi Devi lost to Miss Semenova Julia of Russia and Miss Deeken Sandra of Germany respectively in the first round.
Mr Bendangakum (86 kg), who hails from Nagaland, was also defeated by Mr Mathewred of Australia in the second round.
