Imphal, October 31: Ideal Girls' College, akampat wrested the 2nd A Borchand Singh Memorial Manipur University Inter college Football Tournament crown with a 2-1 defeat of host Biramangol College at Sawombung today.

The champions' goals were scored by H Naobi (25th) and M Phajaton (36th) while a goalkeeper folly allowed the hosts to pull back one in the 62nd minute.

A seemingly harmless corner kick by S Russia floated into the Ideal College goal area which custodian A Roslin misread and deflected into her own net.

Despite the error, Roslin walked away with the best goalkeeper award while her colleague M Phajaton emerged as the top scorer of the competition on five goals.

Biramangol College's W Thoibi bagged the best player award.
