Southern Sporting Union (SSU), Singjamei could not recover from the first minute lethal strike of KYC, Churachandpur's Khaijamin and conceded the match in the first leg semi-final match of 10th M Chittamani Memorial Winners' Cup Football Tournament being played at the Churachandpur Public Ground today.
SSU received the first jolt when Lianmuangsang corner kick landed straight into SSU's custodian Narakanta hand who deflected the ball straight into waiting Khaijamin.
The latter happily romp home the ball and take the lead.
SSU could not recover from the initial shock till the end of the match.
The second leg of the semifinal will be played at SSU homeground at MU ground at 1 pm of Jan 25.In the other match played at AMOFA homeground at Moirang, YWC, Thambalkhong split points with AMOFA after both the team were locked at 1-1.YWC's Nenja Kabui opened team account in the 21st minute with a direct kick from top of the penalty box.
AMOFA came close to levelling the score when Kh Sobha failed to convert a penalty kick awarded by the referee for handling the ball by Benjamin Kamson.
With the match heading in favour of YWC, M Bidyasagar restore parity in the injury time and levelled the score.
