To study the ground realities of football in the adopted districts of the State, the three member AFC team today visited Thoubal and Kakching and interacted with the local clubs.
The team comprising AFC experts Imtiaz Rehman and Jita Singh and Dr Shaji Prabhakaran, director Vision India today visited Thoubal district and parts of Imphal East district.
As a step to identified budding football talent in the grassroot level, the team visited Thoubal Haokha ground, Wangjing Kodompokpi Sports Complex and District Sports Association, Kakching ground.
Later in the afternoon the team visited schools located in Imphal East district and interacted with school officials.
The team visited Manipur Public School, Koirengei, Don Bosco School, Chingmeirong, Bal Bidya Mandir, Porompat in Imphal East.
They also hold talk with officials of these schools.
During the interaction Jita Singh urged the school representatives to extend support for successful implementation of the project.
He also invited the school officials to participate in the workshop for effective implementation of the project.
He also expressed his desire for working hand in hand with educational institutes and local clubs.
Later in the evening Imtiaz left Imphal after holding extensive talks with Government officials and representatives of local clubs.
The team will also visit Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts tomorrow where the grassroot and youth project is to be implemented.
They will be accompanied by Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Govindas Konthoujam.
