Imphal, May 21:
To protest alleged lack of initiative and callousness to its demands from the state authorities, Manipur Loumi Lup said it will go ahead with the 24 hour general strike from 1 am of May 25 as decided in a recent session at GM Hall.
Among others the Lup's demands include relaxation of land and electricity taxes in case compensation to farmers whose lands have been submerged due to Loktak Project, easy accessibility and interest-free loans to farmers, framing framers' policy, extension of Centrally sponsored schemes and viable irrigation system.
