Non-appointment of regular principals in government colleges for the last around 20 years has hindered in bringing quality control education in the state, observed Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) today.
For the last around 20 years, in all the 28 government colleges including two teachers� training colleges and Law College have been functioning without regular principals, said secretary M Angamba Meetei talking to reporters at a press conference held at its office at Keishampat today.
These colleges have been running with senior lecturers of each college as principal in-charge who are about to retired from time to time for such a long time.
This has hindrance in effort to bring quality education in the state; observed the secretary drawing the attention of the chief minister and concern education minister to address the matter at the earliest.
