NGOs' memo on drug shortage

Imphal, August 28: In connection with the problem of shortage of life saving drugs and essential medicines currently besieging the general public of the State the 'Taskforce for Empowering to address Medical Issues' (TEAM) has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister O Ibobi singh today urging him (CM) to take immediate steps to address the grim situation.

TEAM is informed to comprise of NGOs working in the field of drug de-addiction and rehabilitation of drug abusers like SASO, MNP+, Lifeline Foundation, Kripa Society, NEIHRN and Care Foundation.

Difficulties being faced by patients suffering from chronic illnesses, pregnant women and infants due to alarmingly depleting essential drugs/medicines were specially highlighted in the said representation.
