32 Bn CRPF kick started a bouquet of civic action programmes in a function held at Kom-keirak today.
Chief Engineer of NHPC Project Loktak, VK Karn was the chief guest of the inaugural function.
The programmes include a five-day football tournament of eight clubs, five-day training programme for women in management of fruits and vegetable preservation of nutrition for 30 trainees, two-day training programme on livestock management for 30 trainees.
Contemporary books for library and community halls of 10 villages in the area of responsibility of 32 Bn CRPF were also distributed in today's function.
In his welcome address, 32 Bn CRPF Commandant Jagmohan Bhagat highlighted the inherent spirit of Civic Action Programme as welfare to local populace bridging the gap between the force and the civilians.
Senior officers of NHPC, CRPF, local police, heads of various villages and villagers attended the function, said a CRPF press release.
