A portion of the ceiling of JN Hospital, Porompat collapsed all of a sudden today but none received casualty even though it occurred at crowded time.
The collapsing of ceiling at corridor leading to surgical ward to the casualty ward and special ward occurred at about 11 am while patient parties are busy in shifting their patients from wards for examinations.
RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete) plaster of 4x4 feet area collapsed.
When examined the collapse RCC plaster, it seems collapsed due to lack of quality control.
The collapsed area was part of the recently repair ceiling of the hospital.
Eyewitnesses of the incident expressed surprised on the collapse of the ceiling.
Mention may be made that repairing of structures of the hospital and construction of other new structures for upgradation into a medical college is under progress.
