In continuation of its MCA programme, troops of 14 AR under the aegis of HQs 59 Mountain Brigade and 57 Mountain Division have donated infrastructure worth Rs 2.5 lakhs to the Loagos Children Home of Saparmeina which provides shelter to 21 orphans and 15 destitute children.
A PIB (DW) release mentioned the infrastructure donated include four computer sets along with tables and chairs, office furniture, almirahs, 20 benches, 75 plastic chairs and sports equipment for volleyball and football.
Speaking on the presentation ceremony, commander of 59 Mountain Brigade, Brig Raman Dhawan lauded the selfless efforts of Mr Tonglun in running the Home providing succour and shelter to the orphans and destitute.
He also appealed to the village elders to broker peace among various factions of Kuki UG groups, presently under an understanding for suspension of operations with security forces.
The Brigadier noted peace and cordiality is necessary for development of all sorts in the trouble torn state of Manipur.
The ceremony was also attended by Col GS Bedi of 14 AR and ex-MP Pao Kai Haokip, added the release.
