Imphal, Jul 28:
A team of 53 Engineer Regiment led by an officer and a JCO has constructed a suspension foot bridge spanning 247 feet over river Tuivai along the boundary between Mizoram and Manipur, said a PIB (DW) press release.
It said that the old bridge in the area was swept away by a flash flood in 2001 which severely curtailed the movement of the local populace.
With the construction of the new bridge, the local populace can now cross the river to Mizoram to work there and to sell their produces there, it said.
