In the series of military civic action programme under Op Samaritan undertaken in remote villages of Tamenglong district and along NH-53, 'Friends of the Hill people' 38 Assam rifles has provided a vocational training centre at Noney village in Nungba sub-division today.
Stating that the centre was inaugurated by CO of the AR unit Col Vijay Khanna, a PRO IGAR (S) release listed sewing and weaving machinery provided at the centre in addition to being equipped with blacksmith and carpentry tools to facilitate the villagers' aspiration for enhanced scope of sustained economy and employment.
meanwhile, a community hall built under the initiative of 38 AR as part of the MCA project at Awangkhul has been handed over to the village authorities today.
Col Vijay Khanna in his brief address exuded confidence of extending more such project to the villagers while stressing on maintenance of tranquility to accelerate development activities.
