Many pulled up for drug abuse

Imphal, May 17: In its sustained campaign to check drug abuse and other immoral activities in the State, the All Manipur Anti-Drug Association has pulled many drug abusers and peddlers from different places.

A statement issued by AMADA informed that altogether 40 persons were pulled up in connection with abuse intoxicating drugs and liquor.

During the drive about 3,500 litres of liquor were seized.

Moreover several discs of X-rated films were also recovered from some liquor vendors.

Illegal tablets were also seized from Mutum Chandeshwor of Kwakeithel Thiyam Leikai, Mirajan Bibi of Lilong Khunou and Thounaojam Abothe of Kwakeithel Nganappi Thong.

A piece of contraband no 4 was also recovered from one Md Jamir of Hatta Chini, Central Masjid.

Following the revelation of the drug abusers and pedlars, it is known that Md Ithem and Md Jamir deal in tablets while Md Yaibi deal in no 4, disclosed the statement while warning the three of them to give into AMADA at the earliest.
