Imphal, April 15:
The Chaokhat Thourang Kanglup (Club) has alleged that some elements in cahoots with some officials had tried to convert Pathabi located near the Tiddim road in their names.
In a statement, the Club said that former MLA L Ibomcha had declared that Pathabi (Chitha number 162 *Old, Dag number 2001/2238 *New) Off number 42-Keishamthong (Seat number 3) belongs to Thouda Bhabok Leikai.
On top this Inner Lok Sabha MP Dr T Meinya had also laid the foundation stone for a community hall as the said piece of plot.
The same plot of land still stands in the name of the Club in the records maintained by the Settlement Department, said the statement and added that despite these facts, some elements in cahoots with some Government officials have converted the plot to their names.
Taking a serious note of the matter a meeting of the local people was held today, said the statement added that fitting action would be taken up against all those involved in trying "to steal the plot of land".
