Imphal, November 14 2008: Issues of common concerns of various civil society organizations in the state were discussed during a one day consultative meeting held today at the Rongmei Naga Baptist Association (RNBA) premises in Langol Tarung village in Imphal.

The meeting was organized by the Guwahati based NGO Foundation for Social Transformation (FST) in collaboration with RNBA.

The discussion on the nature and needs of civil society in Manipur is aimed at the larger FST goal of realizing its vision for "enabling north east India".

Representatives of various CSO, CBOs as well as academicians and individuals from different districts including Chandel, Churachandpur, Ukhul and Senapati, participated in the deliberations.

The FST was represented by its executive director Ketaki Bardalai, founding member Mumai Pheiga and governing body member Sanamani Yambem.

Mr.Pheiga is also the secretary of the Rongmei Naga Baptist Association (RNBA), Manipur.
