Imphal, April 11: Gurumayum Basanta Sharma of Yumnam Huidrom, an active member of the Mopet Decoration and Cultural Centre, Manipur has been selected for Junior Fellowhip in the field of Puppetry (folk/traditional and indigenous arts) by the Ministry of Culture, Govt of India for a period of two years, informed a press release issued by the Moppet Decoration and Cultural Centre.

G Basanta is the first Puppetry artist from Manipur to get Junior Fellowship for puppetry, from the Department of Culture, Government of India.
