Imphal, May 08: Assam Rifles posted have reportedly busted an illegal gun making factory and seized 10 country made single bore guns along with accessories and implements to make the same from the private residence of Thaikho and Soloni Pomai in Laii village in Senapati district during a operation.

According to a statement issued by the PRO IGAR(S), at the time of the operation, the owners of the house were out of the village, hence they could not be apprehended.

The operation brings to light the dangerous illegal weapon making mafia which has made inroads into the area of Ukhrul and Senapati dists, the statement added.
