Imphal, October 21: The two youths gunned downed by Imphal East police commandos on Oct 17 at Laphupokpi are informed to have been picked up from Khurai area before being done to death, alleged family members of the deceased persons.

Family members, who came to collect the bodies at RIMS mortuary today, quoted local eyewitnesses as saying that a commando team of the Imphal East police picked the two from Khurai Thangjam Leikai Pukhri Achouba before the police making claim of the youths being killed in encounter around noon the same day at Laphupokpi located under Irilbung police station.

Identity of the youths have been established as Khuraijam Sanayanba alias Naobi (20) s/o Ibotombi of Thouroijam Maning Leikai and Konthoujam Kiran (19) s/o Shyamkesho of Itham Moirangpurel Khunou Leikai.
